Questions and Answers

Do I need to rent a car?

No not at all! Saint-Émilion is accessible via public transit and we will have shuttles and taxis available on the wedding day.

I want to conquer time change in time for the wedding. When should I arrive?

In our experience, it usually takes us a good three days to conquer the time change, so if that’s your goal, shoot to arrive late Tuesday/early Wednesday.

Can I book a longer stay with my hotel?

Yes, if they’re available, feel free! We only blocked the rooms for Friday and Saturday night but the hotels are aware that guests may want to stay longer. We’d advise letting them know about your interest in extending when we connect you with hotel management to book your stay via email.

I don’t speak French! Will they show me to the guillotine?

No! A lot of French people speak basic English in heavily touristed areas (like Paris, Bordeaux and Saint-Émilion). The most important thing is to say “bonjour” to everyone you meet, regardless of your level of French! It's a sign of politeness and will help you get off on the right foot :)

Why does it say that taxis will be available until 3:30am? Just how late is the reception going??

This wedding will be on french time, which means lots of time to eat, drink and be merry! Expect a 3 hour dinner, with dancing to begin around 10:30pm. The bar will be open until 3am and the last rides back will depart at 3:30am.

My SO  isn’t listed on my invitation! Can I RSVP for them anyway?

Unfortunately, no, you cannot. We feel so lucky to have such a large and wonderful village willing to celebrate with us on our wedding day. While we wish our invite list could be infinite, venue constraints have forced us to respect a capacity limit. If you have any questions or concerns about your invitation with respect to planning your trip, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Where will you (the bride and groom) be staying? Can we stay with you?

We will be staying at the venue itself, along with our immediate family and bridal party. We wish the Domaine was big enough for everyone but there isn’t room! All other guests will be in Saint-Émilion.

I’m visiting Paris before/after your wedding, what do you recommend I see?

Beyond the local Bordeaux and Saint-Émilion attractions on our Tourism page, the bride is compiling a doc with some of her favorite places in Paris that she'll upload soon.
