Arriving in Bordeaux:

  • For those flying to join us, we recommend flying into Bordeaux-Merignac (BOD) airport, which is well connected with frequent  connections to all major European hubs.

  • For those spending time in Paris beforehand, the SNCF high-speed train (TGV) runs multiple times a day from Paris’ Gare Montparnasse to Bordeaux Saint-Jean, making the journey in just over 2h.

Once in Bordeaux, there are several ways to reach Saint-Émilion:

  • Train: Saint-Émilion can be reached via the local TER train from Bordeaux-Saint-Jean station. Train tickets can be booked via the SNCF website. Either:

    • Get off at Libourne and catch a taxi to your hotel from the cab stand.

    • Stretch your legs with a 20-minute walk to the city center from Saint-Émilion station.

  • Bus: As Saint-Émilion is a popular tourist destination, there is a regular bus from Bordeaux. Transports Nouvelle-Aquitaine Bus 4617 runs between Bordeaux Quinconces Orléans and Saint-Émilion at 9am, 11am and 1pm every day.

    • The return journeys from Saint-Émilion depart at 10am, 12pm and 2pm.

  • Car: Should you choose to rent a car, Saint-Émilion is a 45-minute drive from Bordeaux.

    • Be aware that since Saint-Émilion is a medieval village, parking is limited. Be sure to check with your accommodation to ensure parking is available as even hotels have a finite number of spots.
